Pierce Brosnan had announced his arrival on the Bond arena with his commendable performance in this thrilling Bond blockbuster. The movie is just slightly better that the previous Bond movies, which is a reason big enough to make it a must watch flick. The movie has ever ingredient that a Bond movie must and Pierce Brosnan couldn’t have found a better break to showcase hi talent in the tuxedo. The movie is centered on the Cold war era, with two beautiful women- one evil and the other good and the usual Bond characters in the movie- making it a crisp movie to watch.
Brosnan looks immaculate in the movie and while Connery still remains the best Bond ever, Brosnan seems to fit in quite perfectly and seems in control of the situation for most part of the movie. From extravagant action scenes and cool gadgets to pulling those witty one-liners with a straight face, Brosnan definitely displays his ability to play the new Bond quite well in the movie. Everything in the movie speaks volumes about the glamour and the charisma associated with a Bond movie and the show of glitterati is quite evident in the official title track of the movie, sung by Tina Turner to the lyrics of Bono and Edge of the U2 fame.
This Bond flick has also been termed as one of the most entertaining Bond movies ever to be made, with the explosive stunts scenes in the beginning followed by the subtle and out of the norm credits after that, the movie does incorporate a new sense of belonging to the era of computer hackers (’95, when it was released) and mobile telephony. Directed by Marin Campbell and possessing a skillfully crafted storyline, the GoldenEye is definitely one of the best entertainers of all time.
